one morning in okayama

prelude to my farming adventures (peep em here)

before my 1pm pickup from okayama station, i decided to head in a bit earlier to see the city. at the top of my list was kora-kuen garden, one of japan’s 3 great gardens (which i aint kno till i got there.) theres a 100y bus straight from okayama station that gets you there in 5-10mins and i aint no expert in gardens but this garden is truly a sight to see.

kinda unremarkable at first. but upon further inspection, u realize that the beauty of this garden is being able to see a different view frum every point and turn in the path that connects various gardens, teahouses, rest stops, ponds and hills. it also changes completely throughout the seasons. my fave thing is all the rest stops where lil groups of frens n families or squads of grannies r just eating bento boxes peacefully in the shade. i had handmade udon noodles in a glass tatami hut resto placed over the river across from okayama castle before crossing the bridge n heading back to the station in a cute lil tram (sadly didnt get to ride the infamus cat tram but I SHALL BE BACK)

and upon returning to okayama after my farming escapades, i tried to hit up the donquijote (IDK WHY THEY HAVE THIS WORD IN JAPANESE had no idea what that was for the longest time cuz everyone jus called it donkey) but this store is basically a 7 lvl walmart on crack cocaine. felt so stressed w a train to catch i just left the store without buying a thing LOL

till next time,

A
