july 12 is always the hardest day for me every year but its not the time to share why yet. i took the day off today but as it was still too difficult for me to write about, i figure it will be equally as difficult to read so let’s hope that ill be strong enough to share with you next year. check back july 12 2022.
anyways, random dramatic intro aside, we’ve just gotten our first proper car modification installed!! AIR SUSPENSION aka AIR BAGS (in car ppl terms, i am BAGGED, SLAMMED on the ground, so low u cant even touch me. and in simpler english, every car has suspension struts or coil/springs for each wheel so that u dont smash into cement every time u go over a bump. public buses and trucks have air suspension to carry heavier loads and adjust pressure to each wheel, for example for a passenger in a wheelchair, the front of the bus would lower to accommodate boarding and rise once the bus is in motion. air sus is a specialized system where air compressors pump air into a tank which distributes air individually to each of the four wheels, allowing for adjustable ride height with a remote! essentially, i can raise or lower my car closer to the earth at the push of a button and there is a giant air tank in my trunk.)
yes it is very cool and yes a metal container for some good old oxygen is what cost me 10k and 3 months of crazy hustle so plzzz lets celebrate together. ive rearranged my furniture so i can see my car from while lying in my futon, added to the happiness wall and ive adequately treated myself to an expensive bucket, a mad amount of flowers and AIR jordans (duh) as i enter into this new stage of car life.
i dropped off the car in himeji last monday after an epic NAISU trip (see pics here) w my good fren and then drove back 4h twice during flood warnings to go watch the install bc i would literally do anything for my fairlady. i could not belieb my eyes when we got her back on sunday, like not to be dramatic but THE VERY EMBODIMENT OF DREAMZ FULFILLED. from here on out, its new kicks for the lady too and learning more and more about car life, hopefully w the help of new car frens ive made and the power of perseverance.
as everyone has been telling me, the best way to learn in this case, is just to do it. so stay tuned as we have officially entered the modded car universe! probably epic photoshoot coming soon to celebrate the lady’s first birthday. ahhhhhh (<– that’s me screaming)
