8 months: the last of it

what a funny time to be reflective. i’m sure most of us have spent enough time inside our heads at this point so ill be keeping things as light as possible today :3

there’s a lot that could be discussed (the progression of the past few months, everything that’s been crossed out in my calendar, the inconsistencies of japanese government that left myself and fellow JETs in a state of both anxiety and absolute apathy) but i don’t want to get into it.. instead,

here are the happiest stats i have for this month:

places i saw sakura: home!, takeno, kinosaki, yabu, izushi, kyotango, shinonsen

new viewpoint: the carpark at takeno sports complex overlooking the entire beach

types of sakura trees ive seen: at least 6

the bread ive baked: 2 banana blueberry walnut loaves, 1 coffee pound cake, 6 carrot cake loaves

sport ive rejoined: badminton

best acquisition: GTR toy in my happy meal (it only took 4.5 happy meals)

new recipes ive tried: cajun salmon+seafood boil with garlic butter okra, sauteed mizuna salad/sesame noodle, black sesame silken tofu pudding, creamy thai spicy carrot peanut soup (one of the best things ive ever tasted!!), lemon mug cake

countryside slang of the month: kogyan koto wa aka hen da yo= dOnT do thAt thENg!

most ‘anime’ moment: walking over train tracks to have a mcds picnic by a beautiful bridge on a beautiful cloud day

cookies consumed: only maybe 14 out of the 70 ive made this month 😀

things to be thankful to corona for: reminder to call my family and friends more often, nowhere to go so i can stick to my budget and reach my savings goal next month, more time to try new things!

the month of march felt like it was three years long and then april zoomed by so fast but the main thing that got me through this month were sakura cherry blossoms. pls enjoy this last wave of them (bloomed mid april after the first wave finished)

until next month,

A
