last year i learned about the ides of march [march 15, the day of julius caesar’s predicted and actual death, apparently an unlucky day] but didnt pay no mind until i bumped into my own misfortune- literally. i fell asleep at the wheel n ruined a 7 year clean driving record with my first road accident on a fateful march 15th that couldnt be described as anything else but unlucky.. had i left work on time.. had i waited a one more minute for the traffic to clear before trying to detour etc etc etc. blame it on the netflix id probably been binging late at night or on the ides of march but that wknd was a rollercoaster that later brought me full circle.
btw is this intro dramatic enough??
but it made me thankful for a lot, helped me realize that any problem that can be solved with money aint a problem, showed me more coping mechanisms than i knew i had, and assured me that u can always bounce back.

right now in the countryside, things aren’t too crazy with corona. we have toilet paper and grocery stores are still stocked. classes are cancelled but social distancing isnt a thing here- students come to school for ceremonies and club activities. japan hasnt been testing people to keep cases low, i think, in hopes of keeping the olympics on. im worried about people back home in lockdown mode, especially my family n friends but there’s nothing i can do. its hard not to worry but im staying safe and as sane as possible 🙂
reflecting this year, im not sure if its the ides of march or the ides of 2020. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but itd a big fken understatement to say that this year been rough so far so i wanted to share..
