when u search for something for so long,
it’s no longer about what u were searching for
but what u found along the way.

Before coming to japan, this was a #1 recommended item and high on my japan bucket list. I assured my frens that surely I would try it upon arrival. And I tried to try it. There is no 7/11 in my inaka town but for 6 months, I visited every 7/11 I came upon in my travels (and yall know there have been many.) From Kyoto to Tottori to Tokyo, I never stopped looking but alas I could not find this elusive sandwich.
Just when I’d almost given up on this sando, on a fateful Thursday before midnight, February 6 to be exact, after a roadtrip out to Osaka (a satisfactory backup excursion after cancelling my bday Okinawa vacation due to corona) and a frustrating driving mishap resulting in an expensive toll road, I pulled into a 7/11 parking lot to check my maps and pick up some breakfast. There before my very eyes, a solitary strawberry sando remained in the almost emptied shelf of the 7/11 sandwich depository.
Words cannot describe the high I’m on after the best start to my next quarter century so I’ll let photos do the work. THank you to everyone who have supported my bread acquisition journery.
Pls enjoy this year’s episode of How to Celebrate Your 25th Birthday for 10 Days ❤
DAnk u all,
A
What…you don’t have a Seven Eleven?! What kind of life are you living! I literally pass four on my walk to school…and that’s not including the Family Marts and Lawsons!
Real inaka struggles! The closest ones are at least an hour away 😥
Oh god…I can’t even imagine. That’s insaaane!! Bahaha it’s so funny that you were on this grand mission to find a strawberry sando. They’re everywhere! Even at the cafe I went to last night! XD
Been searching since that first 7/11 in Tokyo hehe 望みが叶う!!
Haha well if it’s that big a deal, I should try one! Just sorta been taking them for granted.
