HAPPY NEW YEAR from the other side! (from HK ok, not kowloon.. that’s the dark side china)
as my furst holiday season away from home, i didnt have expectations, especially since HK is at its height of political unrest. i wont get into it but i did encounter protestors at the mall and witnessed thousands of citizens marching thru the streets. all ill say is that it’s an emotional time for the nation and i hope the HK gvmt sorts their shit out soon. no matter which side, it’s quite touching to see millions of people, young and old, from all backgrounds taking a stand as is their right.
the air was def a huge change, shopkeepers all talking about the bad economy, thousands of shops closing or leaving HK, it was not as festive as usual. cant deny i wuz sad that fireworks were cancelled (tbt 2015 nye in HK before i moved to singapore)
i got sick, lost a waterbottle, a makeup brush and an ipad in a wall, but all in all it was a solid trip w fam and old friends. plus more good tasty food (not as cheap as taiwan but just as good!) anyways a lot happened, pls enjoy ❤
